This is an interactive map of the Magellanic System (LMC, SMC and Bridge). Both above and below the map you can find a number of clickable boxes that switch on and off layers on top of the background image. The available layers include:

Background images:

• DSS2 - shows a DSS image of the MS in the background (see copyright below)
• high contrast - shows more details on the DSS2 photo
• H alpha - image in H α (from H-Alpha Sky Survey, captured from wikisky.org)
• IRAS - Infrared Astronomical Satellite image
• GALEX - Galaxy Explorer All Sky Survey in ultraviolet (UV)
• ROSAT - ROSAT All-Sky Survey in X-Rays

Plot layers:

• equatorial coords - plots a grid of RA/Dec coordinates
• galactic coords - plots a grid of l and b coordinates
• OGLE-IV fields - shows the OGLE-IV field locations
• region - fills the fields with colors dividing them into regions: LMC, Bridge and SMC fields.
• numbers - shows the assigned numbers to the OGLE-IV fields
• clusters - switches on/off star clusters (red dots), stellar associations (yellow dots), emission nebulae (green dots) and HI shells and supershells (blue dots). • Harris 2007 fields - show the location of fields observed by Harris 2007
• quasars - the plot consist of all knows quasars behind the Magellanic Clouds and is based on work of Dobrzycki et al. 2002, Dobrzycki et al. 2003, Dobrzycki et al. 2005, Geha et al. 2003 and Kozlowski et al. (2010, in prep).

[The ROSAT All-Sky Survey] As a background for the plots we have made use of the ROSAT Data Archive of the Max-Planck-Institut für extraterrestrische Physik (MPE) at Garching, Germany.

[2nd Digitized Sky Survey] The UK Schmidt Telescope was operated by the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, with funding from the UK Science and Engineering Research Council (later the UK Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council), until 1988 June, and thereafter by the Anglo-Australian Observatory. The blue plates of the southern Sky Atlas and its Equatorial Extension (together known as the SERC-J), as well as the Equatorial Red (ER), and the Second Epoch [red] Survey (SES) were all taken with the UK Schmidt.
